National Dress Code!

It has come to my attention that people throughout Thailand will be wearing black clothing for 10 to 15 days in morning of the King's sister's passing.

Is this observance expected of all, most, or is it just reccomended or optional??

Please leave comments about what you hear and think.

I think that it's just up to you, as a sign of showing respect. It's probably the same kind of thing as people who wear yellow shirts on mondays...

I was watching some Thai TV, and some of the programs were in black and white... It wasn't a messup of the TV because the commercial breaks were in color again...

You know, it is true, the whole country is in a kind of mourning. I went to MK for lunch today, and usually they have the staff do this dance thing when they change shifts. Not today, and not for this 2 or 3 weeks. It's like nobody's allowed to have fun, or make any display of something that might be amusing. Makes me wonder if I'm violating anything, because I'm having just as much fun as usual, if not more...
